Instructions for Authors

Revista Latinoamericana de Química welcomes submissions of original research articles, reviews, and technical notes that contribute to the advancement of chemical sciences. Authors are requested to follow the guidelines below to ensure a smooth submission and review process.

Manuscript Categories:

  • Original Research Articles – Reports of novel experimental or theoretical findings.
  • Review Articles – Comprehensive and critical analyses of specific topics in chemistry.
  • Technical Notes – Short communications on new methods, techniques, or findings.

Manuscript Preparation:

  • Language: Manuscripts can be submitted in English.
  • Formatting: Use a clear, standard font (e.g., Times New Roman 12 pt) and double-spacing.
  • Structure:
    • Title Page: Title, author names, affiliations, and corresponding author contact details.
    • Abstract: A concise summary (max. 250 words).
    • Keywords: 3-6 relevant keywords.
    • Main Text: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion.
    • References: Follow the journal's citation style.
    • Figures and Tables: Include captions and number them consecutively.

Submission Guidelines:

  • All manuscripts should be submitted via our online submission system at Submit a Manuscript or emailed to editor@fq-unam.org.
  • Authors must ensure that the manuscript is original and not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Ethical guidelines, including proper citations and disclosure of conflicts of interest, must be followed.

Peer Review Process:

  • All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure academic quality and integrity.
  • Authors may be requested to make revisions based on reviewer comments.

Copyright and Open Access Policy:

  • The journal follows an open-access policy, making all published articles freely available.
  • Authors retain copyright but must grant the journal a license to publish their work.
